Simone Tippett
/ Union St Printmakers runs intensive printmaking workshops on demand. The workshops are ideal for beginners, more experienced printmakers and experimenting with different techniques. Everyone has different interests and levels of skills, so it is no matter whether you are a beginner or more experienced. Workshops are always tailored to the needs and experience of the participants. Certificates of Completion are available for teachers.

  • Email Simone (simone@unionstprintmakers.com) to book in / arrange.


General workshop information
:

  • The workshops run 10am-4pm, throughout the year, including school holidays.

  • Most Sundays at Stone & Quoin Studio in Hindmarsh.

  • Weekdays also available upon request, according to studio availability.

  • Workshop sizes vary from 1-4 people (screenprinting) to 1-6 people (all other techniques). The classroom is spacious, well ventilated, but not air-conditioned.

  • Cost ~$220 per person, discounted to $180 if you’ve been a recent UStP student or have purchased an Enjay press through Simone. (All prices include GST.)

  • All materials, excellent notes, studio tea and coffee included.

  • BYO packed lunch (or order from the cafe). Must wear enclosed-toe shoes, old clothes & apron.

  • The workshops are intimate and designed to suit your needs.

  • The workshop always goes ahead, even if only 1 person is booked in :)

  • The workshop cancellation/rescheduling policy is detailed below.

  • Please do not attend if you have any Covid/cold/flu/gastro symptoms.

  • Masterclasses and Guest Print Workshops may be organised or priced slightly differently to regular workshops, so please check individual workshop flyers for details.


Workshops are always booked in advance (weeks to months) and your place confirmed upon payment of your workshop fee.

One-on-one print/mentoring sessions are also available. Mentoring can be formal [eg, The Pinaroo Project (Country Arts), Eyre Arts Action (Country Arts), Sue Ninham (ArtsSA mentorship), Rosina Possingham (ArtsSA mentorship), Meng Zhang (ACE Open mentorship) and Lauren Simeoni (Guildhouse mentorship)] or informal, direct with artists, as needed. (See Print Services under Everything Else.)

Simone also runs onsite workshops for schools and other studios. She has portable workshop presses and can provide the equipment and materials for whichever workshop you require. To date, she has run onsite printmaking workshops for:

  • Schools - Mercedes College, Glenunga International High School, Concordia Senior College, Pedare College, Woodcroft College and Pembroke Senior School.

  • Institutions - Art Gallery of South Australia, First Friday at the Art Gallery, DreamBIG Children’s Festival at the Adelaide Festival Centre, Fabrik Arts + Heritage, Adelaide Writers Week, the State Library of South Australia (the Centre of Democracy), the History Trust of South Australia and the South Australian Museum.

  • Community Groups - the Pinnaroo Project/Mallee Studio and SAMESH.

  • Galleries & Art Groups - Bowerbird Design Market, Prospect Gallery, Bittondi Printmaking Association, the Friends of the Botanic Gardens Art GroupVicarious Press (now in country Victoria), Quick Whippet Studio (now in Aldgate), Gallery 1855 at Tea Tree Gully,  Thumbprint Press in Mount Gambier, the Curdnatta Art Group in Port Augusta and the Coral Street Art Space in Victor Harbour.

  • Libraries & Councils - Onkaparinga Council (Marion, Hallet Cove & Parkholm Libraries) and Prospect Council (Prospect Library).

  • At Stone & Quoin studio, she has co-facilitated Stone & Quoin workshops for the Eyre Art Action Group (from Pt Lincoln) and Emmaus College.

You are welcome to reserve workshop dates far in advance throughout 2026 - at Stone & Quoin Studio at 6 Manton St, at Union St Studios in Stepney and in person/onsite for schools, other studios and community groups.


Cancellation/rescheduling a UStP workshop at Stone & Quoin studio:
(the small print)

  • Workshops may be cancelled/rescheduled once (no loss of workshop fee / no rebooking fee) up to 7 days prior to the workshop date

  • In the week prior to the workshop or in the event of more than one cancellation/reschedule
    - happy for you to swap your enrolment fee to a new date however a $50 rebooking fee applies
    - a partial workshop refund may be possible in extraordinary circumstances (and at UStP’s discretion)

  • Within 48 hours of the workshop
    - happy for you to swap your enrolment fee to a new date however a $90 rebooking fee applies
    - no workshop refund

  • Rescheduling at the last moment due to covid/cold/flu symptoms
    - no rebooking fee / no loss of workshop fee
    - thank you for not sharing your germs 💙
